Transport
We appreciate it can be difficult to get to a rural wedding without a car. For those reliant on public transport, Buittle Castle is on the outskirts of Dalbeattie, a town reachable by bus from Dumfries. Dumfries itself has bus and train connections to Glasgow and beyond. Depending on where you will be travelling from, we will look at arranging transport/carpooling to Buittle Castle from Dalbeattie or the other nearby town of Castle Douglas (also reachable from Dumfries). Please tell us about your transport needs in the RSVP box. For those who need it we can also organise a bus to take guests from Buittle Castle to the reception venue in Auchencairn.
Accommodation
Here is a (work-in-progress) list of accommodation in the region. Local taxi services are available in Castle Douglas and Dalbeattie among others. You are also welcome to camp in the Auchencairn community field for free, however, the nearest public toilets would be a 15-20 minutes walk away. Please include your accommodation plans in the RSVP box.
Catering
This will be a largely vegetarian wedding with some exceptions.
